Jacek’s research focus is on functional characterisation of genetic variants discovered in patients with sever early-onset obesity. He is studying structural and functional properties of 7-transmembrane G-protein couple receptors (GPCR) and their role in regulation of metabolism. The aim of Jacek’s research is to explain how disruption of GPCRs function caused by mutations may lead to obesity phenotype and potentially to aid design and development of novel therapeutic strategies.
